Most Anticipated Book Releases of 2016 | What To Read Wednesday

I sit here with my cold cup of hot chocolate, wrapped in a blanket, typing this blog post.
You drink cold hot chocolate?! I hear you cry! No. No I don't. I have been too engrossed in the world of goodreads that I completely forgot about it, and as a result, it is stone cold, but I'm forcing myself to drink it. But you didn't really need to know that.

Hello Everyone! After scouring the utopia that is the goodreads listopia, I found a list of all the books to be released in 2016. Today I thought I would share with you some of my most anticipated book releases of 2016, this is a bit of an informative post, so it's for those of you who dont know what to look forward to this year, or those of you who need to get a bit pumped for them.
And to make it even more exciting (not really) they are in order of the ones I'm most excited for!!!

5. P.S I like you
I really want to read this book! I love Kasie West's books They may not be the most amazing, award winning pieces writing, but they sure are entertaining! All of her books are the perfect summer read, nothing like a bit of contemporary romance to get the summer going. The synopsis itself does not immediately pull me in, but I bet I will love this book when I get my hands on it! And trust me, I'm going to get my hands on it!
Synopsis:
What if the person you were falling for was a total mystery?
While Lily is spacing out in Chemistry one day, she picks up her pencil and scribbles a line from one of her favourite songs on the desk. The next day, someone else has written back to her on the desk! Soon enough Lily and the mystery student are exchanging notes, and lyrics, and even sharing secrets. When Lily finds out that her anonymous pen pal is a guy, she's flustered -- and kind of feels like she's falling for him.
She and her best friend set out to unravel the identity of the letter writer -- but when the truth is revealed, the guy is the LAST person Lily could have ever imagined it to be. Now that Lily knows the truth, can she untangle her feelings and gather the courage to listen to her heart?

4. Heartless by Marissa Meyer
This sounds amazing. I'm all for the your average fairytale retelling, but Marissa Meyer has a talent for making them so good. The premise seems really new to me, I never really wondered about how the queen of hearts was the way we all know her to be. I cant wait to see how Marissa does this. If the lunar chronicles is anything to go by, I'll really enjoy this book.
Synopsis:
Long before she was the terror of Wonderland — the infamous Queen of Hearts — she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love.
Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favourite of the yet-unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend and supply the Kingdom of Hearts with delectable pastries and confections. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next Queen.
At a royal ball where Cath is expected to receive the king's marriage proposal, she meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the King and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

Monthly Music Favourites | January

Hello everyone! This month I've really gotten into listening to music. I know that sounds weird, but I never really used to listen to music, apart from on the radio when I went to school. In my last post I told you that one of my favourite apps is spotify, and it's really gotten me into listening to music, I use it every single day, whether that's background music for my shower sing alongs or background music to get me through my stacks (and stacks!) of homework. Today I thought I would share with you a few of my faves this month. I went through my most played songs and here they are:

Songs

Adventure of a lifetime - Coldplay
7 years - Lukas Graham
Ex's and Oh's - Elle king
A Drop in the Ocean - Ron Pope
Talking Body - Tove Lo

Albums

Fire Within - Birdy
Purpose - Justin Bieber
Badlands - Halsey
Handwritten - Shawn Mendes
1000 Forms of Fear - Sia

I just thought I'd add in this playlist: DISNEY. Yep, a playlist of Disney songs, because why the hell not? This is what I listen to in the shower, if you were wondering (which you shouldn't, that's quite creepy). My bathroom walls are extremely thin, so my neighbours get to tune in to the free radio station of me singing Disney songs, lucky them! If they ever move out, we'll know why!

So there you have it, some of my favourite songs I've been listening to this month! Until next time,

What's on my Iphone | My Favourite Apps

Hello everyone! I've been looking around the world of blogging and youtubing, trying to find some inspiration for upcoming blog posts, and came across the 'What's on my Iphone' videos that everyone seems to be doing. So today, instead of a 'What's on my Iphone', and going through the whole contents of my phone, I thought I'd just share a few of my favourite apps with you!

I got a new Iphone for Christmas, and we are in love, it's official. You hear those wedding bells in the distance? Yep, those are for us. Sigh. Don't be judging now!  That's my phone up there (what a beaut! aha),  if any of you wanted to know its the Iphone 5s in the colour gold.

Spotify
I've been really loving this app for a long time. I use it everyday, whether it's when I'm doing homework, reading a book, brushing my teeth, or just dancing around my room with a hairbrush-microphone (which we all do, don't lie to me).

Planner Plus
I've been using this since I went on my app store spree when I got my new phone, because there was way too much memory space and I just could not handle the freedom. I use this to add any little tasks I need to do during the week, and tick them off as I go. Its really helpful, and great for all of you with new years resolutions about getting organised!

Netflix
I've said this before and I'll say it again, Netflix is the bane of my existence. Its always there, in the corner of my mind, no don't do that piece of homework watch me, no don't tidy your bedroom, watch me. So when I found out there was a mobile app, my life was officially over, and I was going to live out the rest of my days hunched over in the darkness of the attic, living only on the happiness that the Salvatore brothers bring. Wow, that got out of hand real fast! But honestly I love this app, even though it eats up all of my 3g because I have to have my daily fix of the Salvatores even if I'm out! But it's totally worth it!

Quizlet
One of my previous science teachers actually recommended this app to my class. Its an app where you can make your own online study cards and then use them in games, you can also use cards that other people make, on tons of subjects. This really does help me when I have a test to study for.

Kik messenger
This is one of my most used apps. Me and my friends don't text like you normal people, oh no. We use Kik, Actually, this is probably better for the cost of my phone. Although, thinking about it, not so great for my 3G. Kik is basically an app where you can chat with your friends and send pictures, GIFs and much more.

Twitter
In the last few days I have become obsessed with twitter! Are you ready for another shameless plug? because it's happening. If you ever have any questions, or would just like to have a good old chat, my twitter is linked HERE. I really love talking to you, whether you need any tips, or you just want to have a chat. I've been talking to some of you over on there already! I think twitter is a great place to mix with fellow bloggers, and make new friends. I myself discovered a new blog called Chattergirl, which I'm in love with! On twitter I have been talking to the owner who is super nice, and who I'm also in love with! Haha.

So those are some of my favourite apps that I have on my phone. What are yours? Until next time,

Hello 2016! | A Bit of a Chit Chat

Let's just take a moment to appreciate the BLOG INCEPTION in this photograph. You can probably tell that I'm very proud of it.

Happy new year everyone! 2015 is officially over, we are all ready to get back into the swing of things and make 2016 the best year yet!

I think 2015 was a really good year for me after the mayhem known as 2014, but let's not go into that, for one thing I started this blog in 2015. However, I can tell you that I'm ready for a fresh start, a new beginning, a chance to start again, and with the new year comes that chance.

I'm still finding my way in the blogging world, as you can probably tell I'm still not sure what this blog is, and what I want it to be. I don't like to compare my blog to others, even though I find myself doing it. When you compare yourself to others you will start losing confidence in yourself, I need to work on that in the real world, as well as in the online world, but I have a whole new year to start. If you take anything from this post, this whole blog even, let it be that.

I'm not particularly sure what this post is either, but let's just go with it and have a bit of a chit chat.

In my previous post I didn't really explain my new years resolutions, so I guess now is the time.

To have more confidence in myself.
I have problems when it comes to confidence, I admit I'm a shy person when it comes down to it. That's part of the reason I started this whole project, to have more confidence in myself, and to share who I am. But the reason this blog is anonymous is because I feel I'm still not a confident person. I often get swept up in what other people are doing, caring too much what people think of me. Much like a lot of teenagers I'm sure. 2016 is the year I want to change that!

To make 'SimplyLauren' bigger and better.
I really enjoy what I do on this blog, and I hope I can continue without, well, life getting in the way. Studying for school is becoming more and more serious, due to exams in the not-too-distant-future (eek!), and I don't want to stop. In 2016 I will post at least once a week and if I forget, go over and hassle me on twitter, which is linked HERE (now if that's not a shameless plug I don't know what is! aha).

To be more organised with school work
I can just see myself in the future looking back and being in fits of laughter at this resolution, but we will see! I'm that person who spends the few weeks before school starts in September, pumping myself up, making sure every pencil is sharp, every pen has a lid and that my planner is ready for a workout... and then by the third week into school ( I'm lucky if its that long!) I will have lost my pencil case and be doing all of my homework the day before its due. but this year, that's going to change! Probably.

So this was a bit of an odd post, but a good chat to start to 2016! I hope you had a great 2015, and have an even greater 2016! Until next time,
